Ash
Ash is not an ingredient as some people might believe!  It is a measurement test that is carried out to determine the mineral content of the food and is required by law.

An incineration test is carried out with the resulting residue giving an indication of the mineral content of the product. The residue left over is known as ash and is expressed as a percentage on pet food labels. This ash is only a measurement and is not an ingredient that is added ie. Burnt ingredients are not added to our pet food.
